Thesis:

Study and Modeling of Coal Gasification Process using ASPEN PLUS 11.1 Simulator

  • Performed extensive literature study on nature and scope of coal gasification.
  • Developed simulation framework based on thermodynamics and kinetics of coal gasification.
  • Conducted case studies focusing on trends in product gas composition with variation of temperature, pressure, steam fed and moisture content in coal.

Projects:
* Successfully developed Simulation of reversible AB polycondensation reaction using MS Excel

* Support Studies for Evaluation of an Improved Natural Gas Liquids Removal Process  
(A project  sponsored by Gas Technology Institute, Chicago and US DOE)

  • Evaluated and compared a new NGL recovery process with one of the latest cryogenic expansion process ( US patent 5,983,664) in terms of capital equipment costs as well as utility costs at various operating conditions.

* Analyzed and Compared �Cryogenic Expansion Technology� plants for NGL Recovery

  • Plants based on US Patent # 4,278,457 and 5,983,664 were analyzed using HYSYS 3.1 and CHEMCAD 5.3 simulators.
